What do you like best as a member of the ABWA and NDBW? The opportunity to connect with a diversity of women professionals and entrepreneurs.
What is your involvement in the NDBW? I participate in two committees, membership and finance.
Which was your favorite event & why? The lunches as the speakers are great for professional and even personal development.
Tell us how membership has helped you? I have seen firsthand how members mentor and support each other not just with the local group but on a state and national level.
What do few people know about you? I had a prospective client that would never agree to an appointment and I continued to stop by the lobby and write her a little note with talking points about our services. After three months of once a week notes I won the account and landed one of my largest accounts even never having met the customer in person…sometimes persistence pays off.
What is your proudest moment? Of course, the birth of my son. But second would be securing an account after not winning the bid. The bid winner or cheapest supplier could not fulfill the contract and because I continued to call on the company and the decision maker I ended up getting the account.
What was the best advice you ever received? Never end your day with a negative client call. Go call on a client who loves you and end your day with a positive call.
What is your passion beyond business? Being a life-long learner. Living with less in a well designed space so that I can spend my time living and learning as opposed to being the care-taker of said “stuff”. I always say, we spend the first half of our lives trying to acquire things and the second half getting rid of it!
